Surrogate mothers

Surrogacy is a very actual debate. Very few countries have legalized surrogate motherhood. While sperm donors have become socially accepted almost everywhere, surrogate mothers are still viewed as ethically borderline. As surrogate mothers have to 'lend' their uterus for 9 months, they are more likely to ask for a greater compensation than what sperm donors ask for, and part of the moral issue comes from that. Even though many argue that surrogate mothers build a stronger link with the baby than sperm donors ever would, part of the problem also comes from the financial help often asked by surrogate mothers. What is your own opinion about surrogacy? Do you feel that surrogate mothers should be treated just like sperm donors or somehow differently?
